This Privacy Policy explains how Average Quality, LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our apps, METAR Pilot (iOS and watchOS applications and Apple Watch complications) and E6B Flight Calculator (iOS), our websites, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

Our apps work differently, so some sections apply to only one of them. Where that's the case, the heading says so.

E6B Flight Calculator

In short

  • There is no account, sign-up, or login.
  • The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and it does not use your device's advertising identifier.
  • Every calculation runs on your device. We don't operate a server for the app.
  • What you enter stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
  • The only third-party service in the app is RevenueCat, which manages E6B Pro purchases.

Information stored on your device

The values you enter, your trip and its legs, your aircraft profile, favorites, and settings are saved on your device so the app can restore them the next time you open it. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. You can erase them at any time with SET › RESET ALL DATA, or by deleting the app. If you back up your device to iCloud or a computer, the backup may include this data, under Apple's terms and your backup settings.

If you use the Apple Watch app, the same information is kept on your watch and synced between your iPhone and your paired watch with Apple's WatchConnectivity; it is not sent to us. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and watch complications show your latest results and timers from this on-device data.

Purchases (E6B Pro)

E6B Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment, and we never receive your payment card details, name, or Apple Account email address. We use RevenueCat, Inc. as our service provider to validate and restore purchases and to determine whether E6B Pro is active. When your device is online, the app sends RevenueCat:

  • A random, anonymous identifier created by the app. It is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple Account.
  • App Store transaction information, such as the product purchased, purchase and expiration dates, trial and renewal status, and the App Store receipt.
  • Basic technical information, such as device model, operating system and app version, language and App Store country, and the IP address of your connection.

RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf to validate purchases, provide access to E6B Pro, prevent fraud, and give us aggregate sales and subscription reports. It is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, or for advertising. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Purposes/legal bases:

  • Provide the purchase you asked for, restore it on your devices, and prevent fraud (contract; legitimate interests).

What E6B Flight Calculator does not collect

The app does not ask for or collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or other personal content. It does not include analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs, and it does not track you. The Apple Watch app asks to send notifications only so it can alert you when a countdown ends; those alerts are scheduled on the watch itself. If you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregate usage statistics that do not identify you.

Information We Collect

The section above covers E6B Flight Calculator. This section describes METAR Pilot and our website, as noted in each heading.

Account & Profile (METAR Pilot)

  • Email address and payment information. The app does not require you to create an account.
  • Subscription status and in‑app purchase receipts (provided by Apple for validation).

Purposes/legal bases:

  • Create and secure your account; provide the Service (contract; legitimate interests).
  • Send service or safety notices (legitimate interests; legal obligations).
  • Marketing emails only with your consent; you can withdraw consent at any time.

Location Data (METAR Pilot)

  • Device GPS location to show nearby airports, local METAR/TAF, maps, and to power complications/widgets.
  • Background location for complications/widgets if enabled by you.

Purposes/legal bases:

  • Provide core functionality (contract; legitimate interests).
  • You can disable location in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services; some features may not work.

App & Device Information (METAR Pilot)

  • Device model, OS version, app version, language/region, time zone.
  • App interactions, feature usage, performance logs, crash/diagnostic data.

Purposes/legal bases:

  • Improve reliability, performance, and user experience; detect/prevent abuse and fraud (legitimate interests).

Apple Watch & Complications (METAR Pilot)

  • Configuration and state needed to render complications (e.g., selected airport/metrics, timestamps).
  • Sync metadata between iPhone and Apple Watch via WatchConnectivity.

Purposes/legal bases:

  • Provide watchOS functionality and sync (contract; legitimate interests).

Support & Communications (all apps)

  • Messages you send us (email or in‑app), including screenshots or logs you share.
  • We may generate diagnostic logs to resolve issues.

Purposes/legal bases:

  • Provide customer support and improve the Service.

Website & Cookies

  • IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and the page or campaign that brought you to the site.
  • Cookies or similar technologies for essential functions and analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, including the pages for our apps and clicks on App Store links.
  • If you arrive through a link with campaign (UTM) parameters, your browser's local storage keeps them so that our App Store links can carry a campaign code. Apple uses that code to give us aggregate reports on which campaigns led to downloads.

Purposes/legal bases:

  • Operate the site and understand usage.

Website analytics stay on the website. E6B Flight Calculator itself has no analytics.

Payments

We do not collect or store your payment card numbers. Purchases are processed by Apple via in‑app purchases (IAP). We receive non‑sensitive receipt data to validate your purchase. In E6B Flight Calculator, purchases are validated through RevenueCat, as described above.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, personalize, and maintain the Service (e.g., nearest airports, units, watch complications).
  • Monitor and improve performance, stability, and safety.
  • Communicate about updates, security, and changes.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.

We do not use your Personal Information for third‑party direct marketing without your consent.

Sharing of Information

We may share your information:

  • Service providers (processors): Hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email, and support providers acting on our behalf under contract. Examples include: Apple (App Store/IAP, iCloud-related platform services on your device), Firebase by Google (analytics and crash reporting in METAR Pilot), RevenueCat (in-app purchase management in E6B Flight Calculator), and Google Analytics (website analytics).
  • Legal and safety: To comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Corporate transactions: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale as permitted by law and contract.

We do not sell your Personal Information.

International Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

Retention

We retain Personal Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion as described below.

We don't retain what you enter in E6B Flight Calculator, because we never receive it. RevenueCat keeps E6B Pro transaction records for as long as needed to provide purchase validation and to meet legal and accounting obligations.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

  • Location:Control in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
  • Notifications:Control in iOS Settings > Notifications.
  • Marketing Emails: Unsubscribe via links in emails or contact us.
  • Analytics/Crash Reporting: Manage via in‑app settings (if available) or platform-level controls.
  • E6B Flight Calculator data:Erase everything you've entered with SET › RESET ALL DATA, or by deleting the app.
  • Website analytics:Block or delete cookies in your browser, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your Rights

E6B Flight Calculator doesn't ask who you are and identifies purchases only by an anonymous ID, so we may not be able to link a request to your E6B data. Contact us anyway and we'll help where we can, including by asking RevenueCat to delete records connected to your purchase.

European Union/EEA (GDPR)

You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to processing, and data portability. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

  • Access to categories and specific pieces of Personal Information collected in the past 12 months.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided Personal Information, contact us to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we will provide notice (e.g., in‑app, website, or email). The "Last updated" date shows the latest revision.
