This Privacy Policy explains how the App ("METAR Pilot", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS and watchOS applications, Apple Watch complications, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Information We Collect
Account & Profile
- Email address and payment information. The app does not require you to create an account.
- Subscription status and in‑app purchase receipts (provided by Apple for validation).
Purposes/legal bases:
- Create and secure your account; provide the Service (contract; legitimate interests).
- Send service or safety notices (legitimate interests; legal obligations).
- Marketing emails only with your consent; you can withdraw consent at any time.
Location Data
- Device GPS location to show nearby airports, local METAR/TAF, maps, and to power complications/widgets.
- Background location for complications/widgets if enabled by you.
Purposes/legal bases:
- Provide core functionality (contract; legitimate interests).
- You can disable location in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services; some features may not work.
App & Device Information
- Device model, OS version, app version, language/region, time zone.
- App interactions, feature usage, performance logs, crash/diagnostic data.
Purposes/legal bases:
- Improve reliability, performance, and user experience; detect/prevent abuse and fraud (legitimate interests).
Apple Watch & Complications
- Configuration and state needed to render complications (e.g., selected airport/metrics, timestamps).
- Sync metadata between iPhone and Apple Watch via WatchConnectivity.
Purposes/legal bases:
- Provide watchOS functionality and sync (contract; legitimate interests).
Support & Communications
- Messages you send us (email or in‑app), including screenshots or logs you share.
- We may generate diagnostic logs to resolve issues.

Website & Cookies
- IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps.
- Cookies or similar technologies for essential functions and analytics.

Payments
We do not collect or store your payment card numbers. Purchases are processed by Apple via in‑app purchases (IAP). We receive non‑sensitive receipt data to validate your purchase.
How We Use Information
- Provide, personalize, and maintain the Service (e.g., nearest airports, units, watch complications).
- Monitor and improve performance, stability, and safety.
- Communicate about updates, security, and changes.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.

- Service providers (processors): Hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email, and support providers acting on our behalf under contract. Examples include: Apple (App Store/IAP, iCloud-related platform services on your device), Firebase by Google (analytics and crash reporting).

- Corporate transactions: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale as permitted by law and contract.
We do not sell your Personal Information.
